Jared and Jamie first met on the Outer Banks at Jared’s parents’ house in Corolla, so it only deemed fitting for the two to get married on the Outer Banks.

Jared’s sister Jessica was a good friend of Jamie’s and during the summer of 2005, Jessica invited some friends to Corolla for their annual family beach week. Jamie arrived and Jared was of course there, and the two immediately hit it off – it was a classic case of love at first sight! They spent the entire trip together and exactly 2 years later Jared popped the question.

Jared proposed to Jamie on the pier in Monterey Shores. He told her he wanted to go to the pier to watch the sunset, a favorite pastime of Jared’s when in Corolla.  Jamie thought nothing of it as they strolled to the edge of their favorite pier. By utter surprise, Jared proceeded to get down on one knee right at sunset and asked Jamie to be his wife. He told her he fell in love with her the minute he met her and wanted to spend his life together with only her. With tears in her eyes, Jamie accepted.

The next day, rain swept over the island so the pair decided it would be a good day to start looking for venues for their nuptials. As soon as they walked into The Saltaire House in Duck, they knew this was the perfect spot for their wedding. The lush green grounds, statuary fountain and enormous amenities made it ideal for their entire group of guests.
