Mission Statement: The Outer Banks Wedding Association is a not-for-profit organization comprised of over 250 member businesses for the purpose of promoting the Outer Banks as a wedding destination and our members as resources to brides and those planning events in the area. Vision Statement: To be recognized as the premier wedding destination on the East Coast. The Outer Banks is one of the most popular coastal wedding destinations in the country, and the Outer Banks Wedding Association is the premiere service organization for wedding professionals located in Currituck, Dare, and Hyde counties. We are over 200 members strong, and are governed by a nine-member Board of Directors. The Outer Banks Wedding Association is a non-profit trade marketing organization representing the Outer Banks wedding industry. While we require our members in good standing to adhere to a Code of Professional Ethics, the organization's Board of Directors do not recommend or refer to any single member, nor do we mediate disputes between members or their customers. You may contact us via mail at: Or you may email us. How to Join OBWA We encourage any wedding-related business or individual in Dare, Currituck, or Hyde Counties to join OBWA. Member benefits include: • Your business linked on our web site and listed in our official magazine, Outer Banks Bride. In order to be a member, your year-round place of business must be located in Currituck, Dare or Hyde counties. We have two membership levels: • Regular members are those businesses and individuals who directly service and sell goods or services to the bride. Dues for both membership categories are $295, due annually on June 1. Prorated dues are available for members seeking membership between Feb 1 to May 31. Prorated dues are $100 plus the $50 application fee, with annual dues, $295 due on June 1. Upon receipt of your application and dues payment, our Board of Directors will review your application at the next monthly Board meeting. Once you are accepted into the organization, you will be notified via email and mailed an official member welcome package. |
